State senior billiards and snooker champion Subrat Das added another feather to his cap by winning the Al Trade Cup All-Orissa 9-Ball Tournament, which concluded at Billiards and Snooker Academy here today. In a closely-contested final, Subrat defeated state junior billiards and snooker title holder Nishant Biswal 13-11.
Earlier in the semifinals, Subrat got the better of Jiten Sarangi 11-8, while Nishant prevailed over Rakesh Roshan Pradhan 11-4. The champion received the top prize of Rs 10,000, while the runner-up took home Rs 5,000. Altogether 32 cueists participated in the tournament, which was claimed as the first of its kind in the state.
